Navigating CHANGE in the Tech Space.

The only thing we can absolutely count on is CHANGE. — Earl Nightingale

Born in a small border town between Nigeria and the Benin Republic three and a half decades ago, and now living in the UK, I have experienced some real-time changes in the world around me, be it in politics, economy, technology, environment, or culture.

I have seen a cross-border economic boom that allowed many people in my little town to become wealthy and attracted so many people to move there. I also saw the economy plummet, knocking many back into poverty, all within a span of 10 years.

I have also witnessed a period in Nigeria where the internet was tagged as the tool of the antichrist, and the television as the devil’s box. I built more websites for religious organizations than businesses while running my small digital agency.

There was also a period when a career in tech was not as glamorous as it is today, compared to a period when it’s cool and millions want to be techies, leading to the boom of booTcamps.

Remember when CCNA and Oracle certifications were the pride of an IT career when web developers debated between Dreamweaver and Microsoft FrontPage, and JavaScript script creators and Java applets were the tech rock stars?
